I rather pay 12 dollars a month for Photoshop CC and Lightroom for years on end than a one time 75 euro's for APV2, also Photoshop CC and Lightroom are miles ahead of Affinity still, there is no way you can compare the two in output quality. I actually found this out just now by googling for Affinity V2 DDS support, cause i was playing with the idea to upgrade my V1, but the first letdown was that you cannot upgrade to V2, you have to buy the complete program again, that is not a real big deal since it's not very expensive, but no DDS support is a no brainer for me, and it also kinda pisses me off that they haven't listened to the wishes of their user base.so i'm done with it.

I was one of the people that asked for DDS support back in 2018, and the fact that Affinity devs didn't bother to even consider supporting DDS made me decide to not use their software anylonger, also Photoshop, even the older version is still so much better than Affinity in every single way, that it seems to me that the people at Affinity don't really understand how to make user friendly software and listen to their customers wishes. Always having to fire up the old PS version we have with plugin or even GIMP just to be able to do this simple task. DDS would be very nice or even at the very least support for one of the plugins intel/nvidia would be incredible. HUGE +1 for this, kind of shocked its still not supported. dds support, it's necessary at this point, whether that be through supporting existing plugins or adding native support is irrelevant. But Photoshop got its userbase by unfortunately being the best option available, and being the best option means working for as many people as possible in as many situations as possible.īasically, in short. I get that it isn't a very glamorous or advertiser friendly feature. This isn't a new request either, I've seen people asking for this since 2018. dds files that makes it very hard to actually switch.

It's just the fact that there's NO support for. If the intel or nvidia plugin for photoshop could be used on photo that would fix the issue perfectly. There doesn't even need to be native support. I bought Photo 2, but still find myself using photoshop more purely because I can work with the format I need to work with in photoshop through a plugin. dds support at this point is crazy considering just how common that file type is in 3d applications. And there has to be concessions made in places, and that affinity isn't a huge company yet.īut the fact that there STILL isn't any sort of. I get that not every feature can be implemented.
